You will be picked up from your hotel in Singapore and taken in an air-conditioned coach for a fascinating experience on the Peranakan trail (with food tasting). An English-speaking guide will accompany you on this tour.
Spice Garden: Walk through the Spice Garden which sits on the original site of the first Botanic Gardens and uncover the intricacies of spices and herbs that go into Peranakan cooking.
Visit the Asian Civilizations Museum at Armenian Street, which boasts one of the finest collection of Peranakan exhibits in South East Asia. You will get a glimpse into the fascinating culture of "Nonya and Baba" through an exhibition of their finest clothes and jewelry, furniture, craftwork, porcelain, customs and festivals.
Wander through the bustling enclaves of Katong and Joo Chiat that showcase the rich and baroque Peranakan architecture. Admire rows of colourful traditional shophouses that date back to the 1920s and 1930s amidst an area that draws people from around the island for delicious local food. This area has a rich cultural mix of communities such as the Peranakans, Eurasians, Malays and Indians adding to the cultural fabric of Singapore.
